L'Arc~en~Ciel's 1999 Grand Cross Tour was one of the most fantastic live in 1999 summer. The idea of GTC is: "Grand Cross of 1999. The 9 planets of the Solar System will create a cross shape on the horoscope in 1999. This is an unprecedented as it only happens once in several thousand or several then thousand years according to the rate of probability. The Grand Cross is the arrangement of the lined up stars when the planets of the Solar System create the shape of a cross with the Earth in its center, and this is a very unusual heavenly body phenomenon that is suspected to occur on 1999." They used this unordinary phenomenon for this live."

1999 Grand Cross Tour was started from Osaka(Jul. 17, 1999). This tour was in order opened in six cities, 12 stages in Japan, and attracted over 600,000 fans. The last stage of GCT was opened in Tokyo BIG-SIGHT carpark special stage on Aug. 22. It also attracted over 120,000 fans came and enjoyed this wonderful concert.(Aug. 22)

On Aug. 22, in Tokyo BIG-SIGHT carpark special stage, the last laruku stage in 1999 summer. In the afternoon, there were jammed by lots of fans. Some of them are came from other cities of Japan and other countries. There were no obstacle between them, but they all have one purpose, they came for L'Arc~en~Ciel. Early the afternoon, there was a special show before the live, it was a cosplay show. They cosplayed their favorite band, laruku.

This live were used about 4,000,000,000 yen. So, the scenery of this stage was obviously very "grand"(smile). The center of the stage had a big silver metal ball. Everyone would wonder what was inside the ball.^_^ Until 6:00 pm, the sky went darker, but the atmosphere in the ground became higher and higher. Then the three screens started to play movie. It was like telling the audience be ready to depart a space ship.*smile* The movie introduced some rules of the scpace ship, such as no smoking, no camera recording etc. But the words they used was humorous. Then, the silver ball became illuminated. The fans started screaming, clapping hands and shouting. The movie continued reminding the audience the space ship is ready to fly, and a sound of "quake" came out. When the screen showed Yukihiro's picture, suddenly there was an emergency notice occured, an alarm was rang! Then there was smoke came out on the stage. The silver ball was opened, just like a space ship base. The four members of L'Arc~en~Ciel finally appeared on the stage, the fans screamed ever louder than before.

The opening song was "trick", Hyde was wearing sun glasses, silver shirt(no buttons on.. sexy^o^) and black leather pants. Tetsu was wearing neon green vest, shorts, shoes and orange T-shirt. Ken was wearing shiny black shirt and short pants. Yukihiro was wearing red and white shirt, head band and white jeans(not sure...). Yukihiro came out and played guitar with the members. There were two big screens on the stage, so the "ushiro" people(smile) could see laruku clearly from the screens. Also there were two big blond hair doll girls, one was sitting on the left and the other one was sitting on the right side. Yes, the doll girls are exactly the girl inside HEAVEN'S DRIVE cover.^_^ Next song was "HONEY", Hyde picked up his quitar and said hello to the audience. He was very high and said there are many people in the place, lots of news reporters from other Asian countries came here. He said he watched cosplay show in the backstage and felt the atmosphere was cool. Then he shouted, "if we're gonna die, let's die together!"(smile)(Hyde said that because they wanted to break Michel De Nostradamus' prophesy.

Then they performed "shi no kai", Hyde put off his sun glasses. Many fans were screaming. After they performed "shio no kai", there was a short break. When Hyde was drinking water, the camera was focusing on him, he gave a kiss to the camera. So cute.^_^ Hyde introduced this live will be brocasted to other Asian countries by satellite. The Hyde said "Hello"(in Chinese) to everyone. The sky was begun darker, the performed "niji". Hyde told everybody look at the moon, he said, "I can see the moon clearly tonight, it is a rare chance to sing under the moon. Of course, I can sing on the moutain with the moon. But it is so unbelivable to sing in front of so many people under the moon. It makes me feel so "shiawase"." Then laruku performed "the silver shining". Next, they performed 3 hit songs, "snow drop", "kasou" and "shinsoku ~ lose control ~". While they were performing "snow drop", Tetsu throw the guitar pick to the audence, wonder who is the lucky one.^_^

When they were performing "Caress of Venus", a red ark ballon labelled with "1999 GRAND CROSS TOUR" was hovering over the stage, everyone was so excited about it. Hyde changed. He was wearing a black hat(very sparkle), black shirt and black leather pants. Ken also changed. He was wearing a pair of sun glasses, shiny golden cowboy hat and golden coat. He changed a red guitar. Tetsu throw guitar pick again.^_^ Next song is "HEAVEN'S DRIVE", Hyde put off his hat and played his guitar, Tetsu changed another bass. At the same time, there were about five table dance girls came out to the stage and dancing around. One of the dancer was dancing with Ken, so funny.

Then Hyde was wearing a pair of devil wings(black) on his back, he joked he becomes older so he has wings. Next song is "Shout at the Devil"(my favorite song^^), Hyde shouted, "shout!" for about five times, everybody shouted, then the music began. In the middle of "Shout at the Devil", Hyde held up the microphone stand and throw it after a big shout. Fans were very excited. Almost the song was ending, everyone was hypered.(except Ken, he left already.^^) Hyde throw the stand again. Yukihiro and Tetsu were playing faster and faster. Fireworks were lighting again. After this song, it was interval, encore, you can say it is the second part of the concert.

Four members walked out to the stage, they all changed the clothes. Hyde was wearing brown long shirt and his leather pants again.^^ Tetsu was wearing his designed T-shirt(which could buy it before the concert), Ken was wearing almost the same(smile), Yukihiro was wearing black shirt and white jeans this time, still wearing a headban. They performed "Perfect Blue", they played like jamaicans and palm trees around the stage.(smile) They walked back to the stage also performed their new song, "Driver's High". Hyde shouted "Blurry Eyes", fans all screaming and waving their hands. After "Blurry Eyes" was finished. Tetsu sais hello to the audience. He shouted,
"YO-HO---!"
"minna genki?" fans answered, "genki!"
"ushiro mo genki ne?" fans answered, "genki!"
"minna genki?" fans answered, "genki!"
"minna genki?" few seconds, "minna genki"
"tsuzuki hikiitai yo?"
fans screamed!
"hiku de!"
Then Hyde shouted "tokyo! tokyo"(I think he was shouting "tokyo"^^;) Hyde shouted, "come on baby". Music began. They performed "Blurry Eyes" again. After the last second song finished, Hyde said, "Pieces kiide kudasai." Some people were crying and singing with Hyde. Although everyone did not want the concert end, but it still ended. Hyde, Tetsu and Ken said goodbye to the audience, then they went to backstage. Yukihiro was the last one, he was waving hands to the audience. At last, he also left the stage. The fireworks were lighting and the big egg covered the stage.
